Every Sunday morning a colourful car boot sale ("rastro") is held on the outskirts of Baza. This is located in the large lorry park behind the Hotel Abadi which is off the roundabout at the Hospital entrance to the town (A-92 Junction 342 Baza Este).

All sorts of interesting items are on sale including plants, gifts, antiques, incense, handicrafts, English food, pictures, books and bric-a-brac. Although the market is known by the locals as "El Mercado Inglés" ("The English Market"), it now has a real international flavour, with many Spaniards and other nationalities (as well as English) manning the many stalls. A large selection of refreshments is available in the hotel bar as well as in the market itself. For many people this is a popular regular Sunday meeting-place.

For anyone wishing to sell second-hand goods or handicrafts, arrive (behind the hotel) at around 8.00a.m. to set up your stall. Pitch price 5 euros.
