"Cueva del Minuto"
LOCATION
This lovely, detached, traditional cave house, known to the locals as "Cueva del Minuto" ("El Minuto" was once the owner of this cave), is situated in the old Abatel district (18thC) of the pleasant historic village of Zújar. This village is located in the scenic and fascinating Altiplano de Granada in Andalucía, Spain.
Zújar is a few minutes drive away from the A92 motorway. It is just an hour from Granada with its airport and an hour and a quarter from the Mojácar coast (see Useful Information). It is 10 mins away from the market town of Baza with its many shops and supermarkets, big weekly outdoor market, thriving Sunday car boot sale (Spanish and ex-pats) and its large, modern hospital.
"Cueva del Minuto"
Zújar is known for its proximity to the beautiful Lake Negratín with its therapeutic thermal baths and lakeside restaurants. (The baths are worth visiting for a relaxing swim as the water is a constant 38°C and the entrance fee a mere 2 euros). Zújar is also well-known for its lively and colourful fiestas.
Zújar Church and Main Square
Lake Negratín, Thermal Baths and Restaurant
This cave house is within easy walking distance of the village centre where there are a number of shops, banks, schools, bars, restaurants and medical and dental care. In and around the main square a bustling street market is held every Saturday morning where there are stalls selling clothes, shoes, music and leather goods as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.
A great deal of money is currently being invested in Zújar to enhance and improve its facilities and amenities.
FEATURES
The cave house, which is full of charm and character with original niches hewn into the walls, has a wood-beamed front addition which houses the kitchen and bathroom. The rest of the rooms are all cave rooms.

The glass doors to the patio are protected by a small tiled roof. This area could easily be turned into a small conservatory or an extra sitting-room.
The Andalucían-style kitchen is spacious, light and has a door to the patio. It has been completely refurbished (wiring, plumbing, etc.) and has a new 80-litre water heater. White goods (large fridge-freezer, gas cooker, new washing machine) are included in the price.

Cave Bedroom
Cave Bedroom
There are three double bedrooms within the cave, each with its own access fom the living area (that is, not contiguous, as is the case in many cave houses). One of the bedrooms has an additional small room, which lends itself to use as a walk-in wardrobe. These rooms are full of traditional character (the photos don't do them justice!). These cave bedrooms are wonderful for sleeping in, even during the warmest of nights, as caves maintain a year-round temperature of 18°C to 20°C and no air-conditioning is required.
Cave Bedroom
Extra Cave Room
There is an extra cave room between the kitchen and the living-room which could be used as a computer room or for extra storage space.
The plot area is 130m², of which 35m² is patio. This outdoor area could easily be turned into a small garden.
Access to this cave house is very easy and there is no shortage of parking space.
All paperwork on the cave house is in order. The local taxes on the property are very low.

This property can be purchased direct from the owners and the price has just been even further reduced to only 49,500 euros.
